KX-100 DISPERSANT - PARAFFIN & ASPHALTANE REMOVAL
Description: KX-100 Fast Acting Wax and Asphaltene Blockage Dispersant
KX-100 is a rapid acting composition designed for the removal of paraffin/asphaltene build-up and blockages. Product is designed to dissolve and disperse asphaltenes, neutral resins and paraffins in the C18-C41, range at ambient or elevated temperatures.
KX-100 will enhance the flow characteristics of sludges and heavy crudes. KX-100 will work well in cold weather conditions, maintaining activity down to -40o F. Product works well on paraffins containing free water and paraffinic emulsions.
* Dual-function solvency for Paraffins and Asphaltene under wide temperature and pressure ranges
* Reduces viscosity of heavy crude
* Compatible with most commonly used materials of construction
* Safe for use in oil field applications and the refinery process
* Non Flammable, Non-Corrosive
* Paraffin/Asphaltene clean-up for down hole, flow lines, and storage tanks
* Heavy oil flow enhancement
* Recover sludge deposits from Tanks
Mechanism for Action:
This product is designed to be a very aggressive solvent and works by the mechanisms of dissolution and dispersion.
Dissolution - The product when used in batch treatments for cleaning deposits down-hole operates by dissolving the deposits and holding them in solution. Generally this involves larger volumes with two (2) to four (4) 55 gallon drums poured down hole, followed by diesel or lease oil. Product is down-hole for 24 hours then circulated for 12 hours and then the well is allowed to pump normally removing the dissolved deposits.
Dispersion - This mechanism penetrates particles which have crystallized and suspends them in the oil preventing deposit on the surfaces of pipes, rods, tubing, etc.
It is used in batch treatments of wells, pipelines and tanks. Treatment volume is affected by the depth of the well, flow of the pipeline, and the amount of sludge deposits. It can also be used as part of a continuous injection program to continually disperse and thus inhibit future paraffin and asphaltene deposits.

KX-EB-LINE EMULSION BREAKER/ DEMULSIFIER
KX-EB-Line EB is specifically formulated to destabilize both, oil-in-water and water-inoil type emulsions when used in low treatment dosages of 50-100 PPM with minimal contact time.
* Minimal Contact time.
* Can be adjusted to match specific emulsion requirements of the client's sample oil.
* Compatible with all K-line products including asphaltene and paraffin dispersants.
* Water is separated from oil.
Surfactants from chemical treatment and natural surfactants present in crude oil, usually soluble in oil and water, tend to form an emulsion which is stabilized by metallic fines present in oil sediments. Our products convert an emulsion into oil & water phases due to reduction in interfacial tension and coalescence of the aqueous phase.
Demulsifiers are generally used in concert with sludge liquefiers and mobilizer chemicals. Treatment chemicals are pumped in under pressure to enhance wetting and penetration via multiple entry nozzles to facilitate processing. Products are quite effective and a suitable choice for use with crude emulsions, waste water treatments, clogged sewer lines, crude oil spills and tank cleaning. The application of steam heat up to 150-200o F will activate and speed up demulsification thereby, reducing the BS &W (bottom sediment and water) level of crude.
Properties will vary depending on the specific emulsion breaker that is prepared. One product KX-404-EB properties are listed below:

CI-98 -CORROSION INHIBITOR
A unique and innovative corrosion inhibitor chemical compound which, when incorporated into a petroleum process crude, in low treatment dosages of 50-250 ppm, prevents or retards undesirable corrosion formation.
* CI-98 will help neutralize crude and reduce corrosion.
* Film former provides corrosion inhibition.
* Helps protect machinery tubing and pipes.
Corrosion is caused by down-hole acidic conditions which when combined with water and oxygen promotes the formation of ferric oxide ferrous oxide and steel tubing, casings rods, and all unprotected metal parts. The presence of hydrogen sulfide in the oil also creates an acidic condition and the formation of ferric sulfide also knows as "black power."
Corrosion is prevented by several mechanisms.
* Special additives form a bond, to the exposed steel parts, creating a barrier layer which is impermeable to corrosion causing compounds.
* Additives neutralize hydrogen sulfide in the crude and any acids in the water.
Application & Dosages:
It is suitable for use in oil &/or gas producing wells, usually applied by well head lubricator or treater truck by tubing displacement once a month to once a year depending upon severity of corrosion problem. For sour pumping well, from once a week to once a month is quite effective.

SI-18 - SCALE INHIBITOR
A high performance scale inhibitor developed to prevent both calcium carbonate and calcium sulfate salt deposits. SI-18 Scale Inhibitor is a broad spectrum, high-Calcium tolerant, water soluble scale inhibitor which has been formulated to inhibit the formation and deposition of Calcium Carbonate scale in oil field brines.
* SI-18 Scale Inhibitor is stable at temperatures up to 450oF, allowing it to be used where other products may be thermally unstable.
* SI-18 will complex with the calcium cations, impeding crystal growth and subsequent scale formation and deposition.
* Also controls barium sulfate, iron hydroxide and will disperse colloids and fine particles such as clay.
* Breaks down scale in wells and pipelines
* Stops additional scale from forming
* Increases water solubility of inorganic salts
The scale is inhibited by the following mechanisms.
* Solubility enhancement or threshold effect which reduces precipitation of low solubility inorganic salts.
* Crystal modification which produces crystals which do not adhere well to surfaces.
* Dispersing activity which prevents precipitated crystals or other inorganic particles from depositing on surfaces.
* Buffering effect, which minimizes precipitation of inorganic salts and limits corrosion and formation of iron oxides.
SI-18 Scale Inhibitor may be applied by continuously injecting between 25 to 100 ppm of the product down the annular space of a producing well via side stream bleeder arrangement, based on the total daily volumes of water produced. Other applications may include continuous injection into a header system upstream of a free-water knock-out or a heater treater, or upstream of a high-pressure pump in salt water disposal or injection system. Treatment rates should be optimized by closely monitoring scale deposition at control locations.
Batch treatments with SI-18 Scale Inhibitor are successful in producing wells with sufficient annular fluid to act as a chemical reservoir which will provide a slow, continuous feed of inhibitor into the produced fluids. Normally, one or two batch treatments per week are recommended for effective scale control. SI-18 Scale Inhibitor is not specifically recommended for use in formation squeeze applications due to its extended solubility.
