Diamant Drilling Services is a Belgian Company solely focused on the design, manufacture and application of Fixed Cutter Drill Bits. Highly experienced R&D, Design, Manufacturing and operation personnel work to ensure that your drilling costs are continuously being lowered as a direct result of innovative bit design and application. GLOBAL - LOCAL APPLICATION EXPERIENCES
A full understanding of the needs of the given application is the starting point for the design of any Diamant Drilling Services Product. Accordingly, we ensure that the operations personnel assigned to this task have the experience, local knowledge and analytical skills to fully assess the needs of the specific application. They will have an in-depth practical knowledge of the geographical area, generally having worked there for many years, and will, therefore, be well versed in the challenges of the local drilling environment.
Additionally, at this stage we consider all the interactions between the drill bit and other components of the drilling system in order to evolve the optimum design.
An operations support team exists to critically assess the identified needs of the application prior to compiling a detailed report - at which stage the design team members become involved.
CUSTOMER PARTICIPATION
Close customer cooperation on the application and design will result in the creation of the best possible solution in terms of production times, performance parameters and cost/meter of drilling.
Diamant Drlling Services believes that close contact with the customer, throughout the design process, helps align our service with client needs.
By working interactively with as many relevant customer personnel as is feasible, we can obtain valuable input and clearly identify and agree upon the requirements.
DESIGN ENGINEERING
A cross-functional team of designers and manufacturing and operations engineers developed our proprietary in-house software. This ensures that the technology incorporates features to capture efficiencies and encompasses both design flexibility and speed of reaction.
Each provisional design is passed through the relevant functional groups to ensure that consensus is reached on a final design prior to launching into production.
TECHNOLOGY FOCUS - RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
Diamant Drilling Services' extensive R&D program has two broad objectives:
- To continue to improve on all aspects of fixed-cutter performance in existing applications
- To extend the applications envelope for fixed cutter bits into progressively deeper, harder more abrasive formations.
At a more detailed level these aims translate into specific research in such areas as:
- Improved steerability and drill bit directional predictability in directional wells
- Enhanced cleaning and cuttings removal
- Evolution of PDC cutter technology
- Optimisation of the cutting mechanism in hard and abrasive rock
- Bit Dynamics
Development of Diamant Drilling Services product range is an evolutionary process. All drill bits are closely evaluated by a specialist group at the Belgian plant and designs are continuously revisited to ensure the closest possible match between the product and the demands of the application.
